About Me

Jada Sheppard is a North Carolina A&T State University student from Alexandria, Virginia. She got into art when she was very young to express her emotions to others. A lot of her art is very vibrant and distinct. She started out with acrylic paint and markers, but now her favorite mediums are oil paint, linoleum printing, and graphite pencils. What makes Jada’s art unique is that she uses a mix of surrealism and expressionism to convey emotions through a black female lens. She also draws heavily from Black Neo-Mannerist Art, popularized by Ernie Barnes.
